Not all illnesses require visiting a doctor at the hospital. It makes it all the more convenient to avail the services of doctor home visits for elders. On-call doctor home visits or medical.

In today’s day and age, it’s hard to always stay close to your loved ones. With many choosing to migrate to a different city or country for better career opportunities, the parents are often left behind. But the real challenge arises when the parents develop age related issues or are battling an illness.

With age the need for clinical services increases. Things like existing comorbidities, ongoing medication, etc. make frequent monitoring necessary. Diagnostics and lab tests are needed more periodically. And then at times the medication fatigue developed by elderly people needs to be addressed and managed. Coordinating the clinical care services and supporting sick parents from afar can be very difficult.

We step into such cases to share the caregiving responsibilities of elderly parents and offer them medical services at home.

Providing Medical Support At Home

As a supportive geriatric care or elderly care provider in Malaysia, this is what we offer.

Doctor Services in Elderly Care

One of the most crucial things that elderly people need is a doctor. They need someone to watch out for heir health and vitals regularly. But if one parent is undergoing specialist treatment, then the other would struggle as a caregiver.

In such cases, our Care Doctors offer supportive care services to patients. Our doctors help the patient’s family understand the specialists’ diagnosis, the treatment, and what to expect from it. The Care Doctor makes physical visits or televisits as per the need and addresses questions that the patient and the family have.

The Care Doctors regularly monitor the patient at home and collaborate with the treating specialist to implement their follow up care at home.

Nursing Services in Geriatric Care

A lot of times elderly patients are discharged from hospital with a catheter or a feeding tube. These things require clinical oversight at home to avoid infections. If they have undergone a surgery then they may need wound management assistance at home. We provide basic and specialty nurses to patients at home based on their clinical condition and requirement.

Our nurses monitor the patient’s vitals regularly and update the Care Doctor about patient health. In cases of clinical episodes or onset of complications, they provide nursing interventions under the supervision of a doctor for timely relief.

Caretaker Services

Elderly people with fragile physical state often require a caretaker to help them with their daily chores. In such cases, we provide male and female caretakers as part of our larger care program to help patients and support their caregivers. The caretakers help with tasks like feeding the patient, maintaining their personal hygiene, helping with mobility, etc.

Ancillary Services

Elderly people are often prescribed periodic lab tests and diagnostics by their doctors. They may also need additional things like adult diapers or a walker or wheelchair for some time. We help them with these additional needs as well.

We provide doorstep sample collection for lab tests, medical equipment on rent, medicine delivery, etc.

We further help them with securing an ambulance for hospital visits.

Conclusion

We understand that being a caregiver for an elderly family member can take a physical and emotional toll. But the role of a caregiver becomes extremely stressful for elderly people who are living alone. They desperately need an extra pair of hands to help them through their days.

MyCyber MD Health’s team can become that extra support for elderly people. We can share their caregiving responsibilities and become a steady support that they can depend on as they battle age-related issues and illnesses.
